Automated Car Parking for Airports
Car parking is an important source of revenue for airport operators. Unfortunately, the opportunity to offer more convenient or additional parking is generally constrained by the lack of space. With Automated Parking Systems, operators can often find sufficient unused land in which to place additional or premium parking spaces adjacent to terminals.
Airport Parking Lot Design
Airport operators have something special to offer passengers: premium parking. Premium parking at the airport means valet-like car parking at the main terminal in an ultra-safe and secure facility. For example, airline passengers would drive into the premium parking facility entrance at ground level, unload their bags, lock the car and keeps the keys. They’d then take a ticket and it’s just a short walk from there to the terminal. The car is parked automatically by the mechanical parking system, keeping it is safe against the weather, vandals and thieves. Airport parking doesn't get faster or more convenient than that.
Automated Airport Parking
Automated Parking Systems (APS) are the space-saving way to create parking spaces. By removing the driver from the parking process, APS can park more than twice as many cars as conventional multi-story car parks in the same area. With an APS, airport parking can be set up in many areas where conventional parking simply won't work. An area of just 23 x 23 meters (75 x 75 feet) with an Automated Parking System can provide more than 200 premium airport parking spaces. Alternatively, the automated parking can be set up in irregularly shaped areas, inside existing structures or underground.
